Darton Community College win the NJCAA
In its first season moving up from NJCAA Division II to Division I, the Darton College golf team emerges as the champs of the District Tournament on Tuesday, punching its TaylorMade R11 Review 10th straight ticket to nationals. Darton Community College shot 12-under 276 to win the NJCAA District 3 Championship on Monday in Alexander City, Ala.
The win might have made Dover shed a tear or two, but all it did for Darton assistant coach Bill Jones — who was on the Cavs’ last national title in 2007 before going on to star at Mercer and then finding his way back to Albany to work alongside his former mentor — was make him say “I told ya so” to his players.
